How to Clean Fabric and Vinyl Awnings Easily
Want to Easily Clean Fabric Awnings? Here's how with GreaseGone
Today we'll be teaching you as a professional or DIY enthusiast how to clean any awning, often with 0 scrubbing and a low pressure rinse using GreaseGone a made in Canada biodegradable degreaser with many off label uses.
Tools Needed:
This is the fun part, you'll need almost no tools.
1-2 gallon pump up sprayer
GreaseGone RTU degreaser from StoneSealer Canada
A soft bristle scrub brush on an extension pole of adequate height (if needed)
and a garden hose, though you can use a pressure washer with soft washing JROD tips to speed the process up.
Cleaning the Awning
The Process is the same for both vinyl type awnings, and for fabric type awnings.
1.) fill your pump sprayer 50% of the way with clean fresh water
2.) fill the remainder of your pump sprayer with GreaseGone and pump it up till pressurized
3.) Generously coat the awning with the GreaseGone mixture, and allow to dwell for 5-10 minutes (re wet with more GreaseGone mixture if it begins to dry in this time)
4.) Thoroughly rinse with your garden hose or pressure washer, avoid the jet setting on your hose nozzle or a 0 Degree tip on your pressure washer as they aren't needed and add risk to leaving streaks in your nice job.
5.) Repeat step 3 if awning not fully cleaned as desired, adding 3,b. scrub with your soft bristle brush.
If the orgnaic's on the awning are very heavy, we may recommend you use OxyShock instead, but general black streaks, soot, dust, and mild organics contamination will be easily removed from any awning using this method, and there is no risk of bleaching or discolouring.
