Is Tridents Cyclone the Most Popular Sealer in Canada?
Cyclone has been absolutely flying off the shelves for Canadian retailers since its introduction to the country in June of 2024, but is it Canada’s most popular sealer?
How Popular is Cyclone as a Matte Finish?
Cyclone from Trident is almost impossible to get in Canada without a wait due to its rapid increase in popularity. For example at our store alone in Vancouver, if we get in two pallets of 24 each on a wednesday, it’s completely sold out by thursday morning.
Why is Cyclone Such a Popular Sealer in Canada?
Well, that answer is a little easier, it has 0 competition in the market. There are 0 other matte finish / invisible sealers in Canada which can stabilize paver joint sands. Cyclone is the only product that can provide a clean, natural look to pavers anywhere in Canada, which is why it has been a constant favourite of local contractors, especially in the west coast vancouver market.
Is There any Other Reason Someone Would Pick Cyclone?
Absolutely, it’s also the easiest and most forgiving sealer out of any sealer product currently available in North America. It is a waterbased low VOC formula, making it both safer for the environment but also easier to use. No need for technicians to wear large respirators to be safe from the fumes, no heavy backrolling, and no specialty sprayers needed, just spray on with your choice of manual or electric plastic sprayer and you’re off to the races. Your clients will love cyclones almost non detectable scent during application, and quick turnaround time of under 24 hours being back and ready for use in good weather.
Are There any “Off Label” uses for Cyclone?
There is, and my favourite is using SEK joint sands along with Trident Cyclone to touch up paver joints in between full strip and seal jobs. So say you sealed a surface with Hurricane CAT 5 2 years ago, and during this years annual maintenance clean and inspection you noticed theres about 5-10 joints missing across a driveway of pavers. Rather than leave those and let water into the backside of the system which can cause damage, or mixing up a whole quarter kit of CAT 5 to patch the joints, we’ll use cyclone.
Step 1: fill the broken joints with the same colour sand as was used when the pavers were initially sanded and sealed.
Step 2: Fill a small needle tip squeeze bottle (like the ones for sauces you get at the dollar store, or restaurant supply places) with Trident Cyclone Matte Finish Stabilizing Sealer
Step 3: Squeeze out Cyclone from the bottle onto the fresh sand, thoroughly saturating.
Step 4: Wipe up any excess or spills from the joint and surrounding area, once dried cyclone is invisible but this is a best practice as a professional Trident installer.
